Linocut print ,, Forgotten" A3
Forgotten — Linocut Print
There is something hauntingly beautiful about places that have been left behind.
Forgotten depicts the uppermost part of a Gothic cathedral, rising quietly among climbing plants and untamed foliage. Once a place of grandeur and devotion, it now seems almost swallowed by nature — its stonework slowly disappearing beneath leaves and time.
The cathedral is no longer imposing. Instead, it feels distant, almost dreamlike; a fragment of something that once was. Nature grows around it without trying to erase it, creating a quiet balance between decay and beauty.
This piece was hand carved into a lino block and hand pressed, with every impression made individually. The process leaves behind subtle variations in texture, ink, and pressure — little traces of the artist's hand that make no two prints exactly alike.
Printed entirely in black, the monochromatic image gives the work a dark, poetic atmosphere. The artwork itself is approximately A3 in size, while the sheet of paper is slightly larger. This leaves a natural border around the print and allows some flexibility when choosing a frame or adjusting the print to your preferred framing style.
