Linocut print ,,Girls with circles II" second print A4
Girls with Circles II — Linocut Print
Girls with Circles II is the second print in a three-part linocut series inspired by the strange, playful, and intimate world of the circus.
The series explores the unusual relationship between performers and animals — a world of movement, trust, balance, and shared rhythm. In this second composition, human and animal forms become intertwined with the gestures and shapes of the circus, creating a scene that feels both theatrical and dreamlike.
The figures seem less like separate performers and creatures and more like parts of the same performance. Bodies curve, animals move alongside people, and the circular forms suggest motion, repetition, and the endless rhythm of the circus ring.
Hand carved into a lino block and hand pressed one print at a time, the artwork is printed in black and red. The strong two-color palette gives the composition a bold, graphic character while preserving the slightly mysterious atmosphere of the series.
Because every impression is made by hand, each print may vary slightly from the others. Differences in ink coverage, texture, pressure, and registration are natural results of the printing process. These small variations are not imperfections, but part of what makes each handmade print individual.
As the second piece in the Girls with Circles series, it can be displayed independently or collected together with Girls with Circles I and Girls with Circles III to create the complete series.
The printed artwork is approximately A4 in size, while the paper itself is slightly larger. This leaves a natural border around the artwork and allows flexibility when choosing a frame.
